ADVANS Program with the Gifford Foundation

The Gifford Foundation has announced the names of six local organizations who will participate in round three of their capacity building initiative. I am delighted to share that I will be working with the Samartian Center -  interfaith non-profit that helps to feed the homeless and needy men, women and children of Syracuse.

Participating in this program is like a dream come true for me - an actualization of all of the reasons I launched Wandersee Consulting. The ADVANS program is designed to meet an organization where it is at, and provide the tools to improve the organization's ability to fulfill it's mission.

The value of the mission of the Samaritan Center is self evident. The interfaith effort that treats all people with dignity with the focus on a warm, nutritious meal is exactly the kind of organization I wanted to work with. It is one that makes a real difference in the lives of real people

Many thanks to both the Gifford Foundation and the Samaritan Center - I am looking forward to our work together!

New Board Roles for 2011-12

It seems that enough is never enough. I have joined the Women's Business Opportunity Connections Board (WBOC) as Vice President of Programs - and I will welcome program ideas from my friends and colleagues!

I've also accepted the role of Treasurer at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society - my beloved liberal faith community. I did step back from some other responsbilities there so I can manage the money.

Once again, I've bit off more than I can chew, but I love the people and the missions of both these organizations. How could I say no?

Professional Development at Kripalu Yoga Center

Andrea attended Kripalu Yoga Center for professional development related to leadership, coaching, journal writing, nutrition and, of course, yoga!

It was my first time attending Kripalu, and it fullfilled a personal goal I set for myself in 2005! With workshops in mindful, healthy eating, journaling and creativity, and yoga and leadership, I was in seventh heaven. The food and yoga classes were amazing. Most importantly, it felt good to celebrate my first year in business with a chance to get away and reflect on where I'm at both personally and professionally.
